Lest We Forget Association launched a refugee project that is funded by the Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Supporting Human Rights Defenders, which sheds light on refugee women in Palestinian camps and in decision- making centers in the popular committees
Farha Abu Al-Haija, President of the Association Not to Forget, stated that the project aims to enhance the participation of refugee women in decision-making centers, whether inside or outside the Palestinian camps, and unify the vision of the work of refugee women in the Palestinian camps, through the development of gender units in the popular committees through training. Empowering the members so that they are able to play their roles in a distinctive and strong way creates a change in the reality of refugee women in the camps and gives wider opportunities for women to reach decision-making positions in the popular committees.
Samah Zahalka, the project coordinator, talked about the mechanisms of implementing the project and its outputs, especially with regard to forming a network to support women in the popular committees, noting that the project will be implemented for a year, which includes several meetings and training workshops for the popular committees
