Lest We Forget, the Anniversary of the Jenin Camp Battle will be held
Under the slogan “We will not forget the battle of Jenin camp,” the Association “Let us not forget” organized an event as part of a series of activities that it will implement on the anniversary, in the presence of the head of the popular committee, the captive liberator Muhammad al-Sabbagh, brother Shami al-Shami, brother Jihad Abu al-Kamel, Secretary of the Fatah movement in Jenin camp, brother Omar Sharif, Sahar al-Rakh and Ahlam Abu Qatana, members of the Popular Committee and a number of women in Jenin camp who lived through the battle and had a prominent role in it.

Under the slogan “We will not forget the battle of Jenin camp,” the Association “Let us not forget” organized an event as part of a series of activities that it will implement on the anniversary, in the presence of the head of the popular committee, the captive liberator Muhammad al-Sabbagh, brother Shami al-Shami, brother Jihad Abu al-Kamel, Secretary of the Fatah movement in Jenin camp, brother Omar Sharif, Sahar al-Rakh and Ahlam Abu Qatana, members of the Popular Committee and a number of women in Jenin camp who lived through the battle and had a prominent role in it. The ceremony began with a minute of silence with the reading of Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs of Jenin camp. Then Farha Abu Al-Heija, head of the Lest We Forget Association, spoke, stressing that this event would be the start of a series of activities and programs that bear the details of the battle, stressing that the activities will target children and women, where many are arranged. Activities and programs bearing the slogan “We will not forget the heroic battle of Jenin camp, in which women made great sacrifices, pointing to the importance of transmitting the events and details of the battle to different generations, because this bears a national responsibility on everyone.” This is as she recalled the late martyr Yasser Arafat Abu Ammar, who formed a true legend in His solidarity, his struggle, and his sacrifices, especially with regard to Jenin camp, and the role he played with the United Arab Emirates in rebuilding the camp and building many institutions there. Brother Muhammad al-Sabbagh, head of the People’s Committee for Jenin Camp Services, spoke about the importance of these activities, pointing out that Jenin camp was and still offers sacrifices for the sake of Palestine, and that what happened in the battle constitutes a history of struggle that must be documented to serve as a history taught to future generations. He also praised the role of the Palestinian woman who persevered in Jenin camp in defense of her rights Meanwhile, the brother of the prisoner, Iyad Arsan, spoke about the suffering of the prisoners inside the occupation prisons, especially those who are serving high sentences, referring to the health condition of his captive brother, who is serving a 25-year sentence in the occupation prisons, and who suffers from cancer, calling on the human rights and humanitarian authorities to expedite his release. The ceremony included a message from the prisoner, Iyad Arsan, delivered by the young woman, Aseel Al-Absi, during which he demanded the international community to stand by him and to return safely to his family, stressing that there are many prisoners living in difficult health conditions. While workshops were conducted in which women participated to talk about the details of the daily life of the battle, and then patriotic paragraphs were presented confirming that we will not forget the battle of Jenin camp.
