The Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy (Miftah) held a meeting in the chamber of Farah TV, attended by representatives of political parties and forces in Jenin The coordinator of Miftah Farha Abu Al Haija said that there has been a discussion of the Charter of the promotion of women's participation in political decision-making , which was signed by the PLO factions on 1/11/2010, in which the faction confirmed its commitment to promote women's political participation and increase the number of women in decision-making positions within the parties and organizations, also to increase the number of women on electoral lists for municipal councils and local , legislative and provide women in the lists of candidates for municipal and local elections . The participant confirmes that there is a real problem facing the factions and organizations in the representation of women ,because of the culture of the community of male and the negative outlook towards women, the absence of political culture within the parties, in addition to the weakness of political organizations in the Palestinian arena , which was reflected on the reality of women's participation in addition to the reality of the Palestinian division and the effect of significantly negative impact on women The participants recommended at the end the need to put pressure on political parties to raise the proportion of women's representation in the elections, in addition to respect the abilities and qualifications of women , also recommended the need to increase the base feminist actors and that there is a real control of the application of laws that also recommended the need to educate and rehabilitate community of both sexes , this also stressed the need to set up committees to put pressure on the parties to implement the Charter.
