On the occasion of the international day against violence vgainst women, Not To Forget society arranged a meeting with activist women in the field of social work, volunteers and representatives of civil institutions and in the association chamber The president of the association Farha Abu Al Haija started with a welcoming speech, talking about the struggle Palestanian women and their social and political role that is worthy of everyone's respect and appreciation , noting that discrimination against women in law or practice and the continuing approach of gender inequality is still practiced, where more than 70% of the women suffer from various forms of violence , whether verbally or physically or sexually, this violence is practiced in some cases of kin and this requires significant role of women's organizations, human rights organizations and the media to work hard in order to sensitize the community the size of this problem and its negative effects The social worker Rana Muawiya pointed to the high proportion of abused women , noting that the bulk of women who suffer from this problem can not and do not dare to talk about this issue, because there is still a fear among women because of the negative perception of the community orientation of women, and the absence of the existence of legal and social protection to help women get their rights. Rana also talked about the psychological support project which is implemented by the organization to support women and empower them. At the end of the meeting, the participants recommended to highlight the importance of the issue of violence against women through programs, activities and events so that women can defy this problem and defend their rights .
