Not To Forget Launches the Second Phase of the "My Safe Space" Project
This project is funded by the Representative Office of Canada to the Palestinian Authority and implemented by the "Not To Forget" Association. The "Not To Forget" Association has begun the second phase of the "My Safe Space" project, dedicated to supporting women in the women's centers of Askar New Camp, Balata, and Jenin in the West Bank. This phase includes organizing monthly workshops for women in these camps, focusing on rejecting gender-based violence and enhancing the roles of women in Palestinian society. The workshops also aim to empower women to express themselves through interactive sessions and meetings.
This phase will feature a series of awareness and stress relief workshops for women and girls in Palestinian camps. Additionally, there will be an awareness and advocacy campaign on issues important to women, and a safe space for women and girls will be established at the women's center in Balata Camp.
During the first phase of the project, which took place in 2023/2024, a safe space was established in Askar New Camp and the "Not To Forget" Association to hold psychological relief workshops and awareness meetings for women. Leaders from the targeted camps were also trained on the importance of safe spaces and protection mechanisms from gender-based violence.
