This is part of the Refugee Women's Voice Project. The Not to Forget Association has launched the second phase of the Refugee Women's Voice Project, targeting women in camps across the country, specifically Balata Camp.
Mr. Imad Zaki Haj, head of the Popular Committee for Services in Balata Camp, welcomed Ms. Shahira Balbisi to sign the second phase agreement between the Popular Committee and the Not to Forget Association under the Refugee Women's Voice Project.
In the first phase, several monthly workshops were conducted for women in Balata Camp, focusing on the importance of the presence of refugee women in institutions, particularly in camp committees, and the vital roles of women in Palestinian camps. These sessions provided women with the right to express themselves. The second phase will include many awareness and debriefing workshops for women and girls in the Palestinian camps, as well as launching an advocacy campaign on issues concerning women.
Additionally, feminist leaders from the targeted camps were trained on the importance of women's presence in institutions and their right to assert their status. The training also covered issues of violence against women and girls and protection mechanisms.
